Poverty is hunger. Poverty is living without a roof. Poverty is being sick and not being able to consult a doctor.
Poverty is not able to go to school and not knowing how to read. Poverty is not having a job, is fear of the future is to live day by day.
Poverty is losing a son to a disease caused by pollution of the water.
Poverty is not having power and not be adequately represented; poverty is macanza of freedom.
Poverty takes on different faces, places and faces change over time, and has been described in many ways.
Poverty is a situation where people want to escape.
Poverty, therefore, requires action by both poor and wealthy, and requested to change the world to make sure that more people can have a good level of nutrition, housing adequate access to education and health, protection from violence, and voice in what happens in their community.
The dimensions of poverty.
To see how we can reduce poverty, to understand what contributes or not to relieve it and to understand how it changes over time, we must define, measure, study and even live in poverty.
Since poverty has many dimensions, must be observed through a series of indicators, indicators of income levels and consumption, social indicators and indicators of vulnerability and also the level of access to society and political life.
